Garth Adam transforms lost expectations into empowerment on “Pocketfull of Tears”
Garth Adam starts a new emotional phase with his new single “Pocketfull of Tears.” The track gently collects the pieces of heartbreak and turns them into a quietly defiant expression. The song’s introspective narration and underlying sense of resilience capture the pain of unmet expectations while firmly refusing to give in to them.
“Pocketfull of Tears” has a real sense of authenticity that is both personal and universal. Adam accepts openness, allowing the pain of disappointment to surface. But underneath the sadness is strength. This balance, gentle but firm, gives the track its deep, honest quality. He doesn’t make suffering sound worse than it is, he studies it and turns thought into action.
The track is part of Adam’s ongoing artistic growth, which has led to his most recent EP, Three Fires. Adam toured the world in the 1990s and early 2000s, playing in England, Italy, New Zealand, the US, and Canada. He changed a lot during a trip to Austin, Texas, which he calls “the quintessential singer-songwriter town.” That important moment gave him the confidence to start making his own work again, which led to a successful career as an independent DIY artist.
The EP sessions in Perth, Western Australia, with longtime collaborator and producer Melvin Tree and friend Dave Kelly were both natural and fun. The three of them played together in a circle, using their instruments and recording through an old Studer analog console to create a warm, natural sound. The backing vocals from Tree’s students add emotional depth and subtly enhance the overall mood. In “Pocketfull of Tears,” Garth Adam tells listeners that even when they are heartbroken, they have a strength that can be used, and that healing often starts with not giving up.

Kylie XO shows power and persistence with new release “I DON’T QUIT”
Kylie XO makes resilience powerful and unexpectedly heartfelt on her new single, “I DON’T QUIT.” The song feels real with its nostalgic 2000s hip-hop sound, confidence, reflection, and emotional honesty. Persistence defines Kylie, not anger or conflict. The song is about rebellion and endurance, born of years of pushing forward and staying true to herself.
The emotional maturity of “I DON’T QUIT” sets it apart as a declaration of self-confidence, not a performance. Kylie XO’s personal story connects to her roots in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Kaiapoi, making the single special. Regional slang, cultural references, and personal memories inform her song. These warm, personal moments help the listener relate to her ambition and the world that created it.
With this release, Kylie XO proves persistence is as powerful as aggression. “I DON’T QUIT” is strong without preaching, emotional without being weak, and personal without being universal. It shows that endurance can be an artist’s most powerful statement.
