According to Muzique Magazine interview with DJ Xclusive City. He explained, how he discover his love for his craft and what made him to pursue forward his career and more.
Muzique Magazine – When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I remember sitting by the radio every day just waiting until my favorite songs came on so I could record them. At the age of 12, I began creating custom mixtapes for my classmates, using a CD burner and old hip-hop albums I would borrow from my uncle.
By the time I reached high school, I had made a name for myself selling my mixtape CDs around my neighborhood, local stores, and barbershops. That’s when I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in not only DJing but doing radio as well.
Muzique Magazine – To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Wow. That’s a great question! I was born in Providence, RI to Haitian parents, so I definitely accredit my style to my Caribbean background. I grew up listening to a lot of legends from my hometown in Providence, RI to my second home in New York City, to my current home in Orlando, FL.
So, I would also have to accredit my sense of style to legends like DJ Buck, DJ Big Stress, DJ Half Pint, Fred Da Great, DJ Finesse, DJ Rukiz, DJ CR, DJ Squeak, Funkmaster Flex, Kid Kapri, DJ Red Alert, Tony Touch, DJ Camilo, DJ Clue, DJ Envy, DJ Superstar Jay, DJ Whoo Kid, DJ D-Strong, DJ Stakz, DJ Juice, DJ D-Nice, DJ Prostyle, DJ Nasty, DJ Khaled and the list goes on…
Muzique Magazine – What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
At the moment, the COVID-19 pandemic has been by far one of my greatest challenges as it has kind of forced us, DJs, into a challenging space. With all the clubs and venues shutting down, it slowed down the money we use to pay our bills.
As a result, a lot of us DJs are using Instagram Live, Facebook Live, Youtube Live, Twitch, and recently Mixcloud Live to stream our sets. My greatest attribute when it comes to my work ethic would definitely be that I’m definitely a hustler and I’m different! I’m still learning the game and it inspires me to be better!
The term DJ is used to describe a wide variety of characters in today’s musical landscape. There are DJs who are on the radio, DJs who spin at clubs, DJs who perform at festivals, DJs who produce…and then there are DJs who do it all. That is DJ Xclusive City.

Not every collaboration turns out well in the world of online personalities and music stars. Playboi Carti recently shared his thoughts during a call on Kai Cenat’s livestream, discussing his previous experience with Adin Ross. Carti revealed that a 2023 stream with Ross didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped, noting that their energies didn’t match. He candidly said, “I ain’t like that Adin Ross stuff, bro,” clarifying that their styles hadn’t aligned during the stream. So it’s gon’ be awkward, you feel me? And it’s cool. Everybody ain’t… You feel me?” His remarks quickly sparked discussions online, with fans debating whether Carti was being fair or too dismissive.
