Get To Know: MoonLee
MoonLee has been fortunate to travel all through Europe enough to perform at venues such as The Delancey, The Paper Box, and the Sobs (sound of Brazil). Inspiration is found not only from the artists that have influenced my sound but from the vastness of the universe.
MoonLee itself is a reclamation of something dark and personal that has translated to something vibrant and symbolic of his desire to attain the versatility of the moon. Life and its lessons are composed of phases, light and dark cycling, things we cannot always make sense of for ourselves. His sound is an inquisitive exploration of that unknown.
A constant effort to understand something while simultaneously accepting that some things will always be a mystery. MoonLee strives to find the serenity in letting go of that.
We had the privilege to do an exclusive interview with MoonLee and here are what he says:
QUESTIONS:
1. Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
MoonLee: Since I was little I was extremely interested in music. I self-taught myself the piano and guitar. Growing up I used music as an outlet for any emotional distraught and found it as a means of escape and a way to vent.
2. Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started this career?
MoonLee: The most interesting thing that happened to me since starting my music career was that the first show I ever performed at the entire crowd started singing the hook to one of my songs and I couldn’t believe that so many people resonated with me energetically.
3. Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?
MoonLee: The funniest mistake I made was probably being afraid to project my voice while recording music my original work from when I first started sounded almost like ASMR. so I learned to be confident in my abilities and to be myself.
4. What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?
MoonLee: Well my current project is the most interesting thing I’m currently working on. It’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.
5. Who are some of the most interesting people you have interacted with? What was that like? Do you have any stories?
MoonLee: I’ve had some interesting experiences with an artist by the name of Lil B. He’s an extremely down-to-earth guy. I wasn’t expecting that personality. Also, I’ve had a conversation with an artist whose music is some of my favorites. He goes by the name of Broly 500 the fact that he said I had talent blew my mind giving the fact he’s about to explode into the music industry
6. Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
MoonLee: My tip is rather a cliche but true. Never give up or be afraid to be you. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Your energy is your own and you can spread that energy through the world and take it by storm.
7. You have been blessed with success in a career path that can be challenging. Do you have any words of advice for others who may want to embark on this career path, but seem daunted by the prospect of failure?
MoonLee: The advice I would give is no matter what happens you can always grow and learn how to surpass that challenge. Turn your “Ls” into lessons.
8. Can you share with our readers any self-care routines, practices, or treatments that you do to help your body, mind, or heart to thrive? Kindly share a story or an example for each.
MoonLee: Your body is your temple. Eat clean food. Health is wealth and stays away from processed foods. Always practice when it comes to your songs and breathing techniques.

10. Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?
MoonLee: Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.
11. None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?
MoonLee: Another cliche answer however I wouldn’t be here without my family’s support whether it be showing up at my shows or just giving my music a listen in general. Also my Friends and my Girlfriend giving me constructive criticism constantly throughout my journey helping me grow as an artist.
12. You are a person of enormous influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. 🙂
MoonLee: Universal love can’t play beautiful music without mixing all the colorful notes.
13. We are very blessed that some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch, and why? He or she might see this. 🙂
MoonLee: To be completely honest there’s an artist named Russ that I’d love to have breakfast with. His insight into the world and the music industry is baffling. I feel like I could learn a lot from him.
