Lil Yachty is causing waves in the music scene with a tantalizing hint at an upcoming collaboration with none other than Playboi Carti. The rapper took to social media to share a cryptic photo featuring a double-stacked cup perched on top of an opium briefcase, sparking widespread speculation about a potential musical masterpiece in the making.

If this collaboration comes to fruition, it would mark the first joint effort between the two artists. While Carti had previously featured on Yachty’s hit “Get Dripped” in 2018, and Yachty, alongside Future, joined forces with Carti on “Flex Up” in 2020, the prospect of a dedicated Lil Yachty and Playboi Carti project has fans buzzing with anticipation.

Fans took to social media to express their excitement, with one enthusiast stating, “I mean they already got bangers so that’s a no-brainer.” Another fan enthusiastically commented, “Bro, that’s literally the nicest duo we didn’t know we needed 💯💯.” A third fan chimed in, “Well, of course! That would be the smartest thing to do, especially if they ain’t beefin.”

However, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for the potential collaboration. Are you thrilled about another Yachty/Carti collab? Share your thoughts in the comments!

On the flip side, Playboi Carti’s recent news has been a bit more tumultuous. Speculation is rife regarding the postponement of his Antagonist Tour, allegedly due to a legal battle involving Homixide Gang. The group is reportedly embroiled in a dispute with Live Nation stemming from an incident where they jumped Summrs at a concert late last year.

It’s essential to note that these details are currently unverified and seem to originate from Playboi Carti’s official fan Discord server.

The altercation involving Homixide Gang and Summrs took place at BoxFest in November 2023. A video captured by an audience member showcased a chaotic brawl unfolding on stage during the performance. The cause of the altercation remains unclear, although Reddit users claim to have seen a second video depicting members of the rap group rushing the stage.

In the aftermath of the incident, Summrs released “Check Me Out,” his first track, which seemed to contain references to the altercation and other allegations against Homixide Gang. The lyrics, including lines like “I DM one of these n-gga’s hoes, I’m tryna see if the b-tch go,” have been interpreted as shots at the group amidst grooming allegations. Additionally, several bars directly reference the jumping incident and the subsequent threats made by Summrs in response.

Michael Blackson didn’t hold back when expressing his disappointment with Ice Spice‘s performance at Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Super Bowl party. The comedian took to Instagram to share his thoughts, quipping, “Tell the frozen spice girl to stop singing to me; I have a dashiki that’s older than her.” Blackson even posted footage of Spice rapping and twerking, capturing his unimpressed expression, and fans joined in with their own critiques.

“So she’s a stripper with a microphone. Got it,” remarked one hater, while another concurred, “Imagine your music being so trash you have to show your nakedness so we can forget that your music is trash 🗑️.”

Despite the less-than-stellar performance, Ice Spice was among the lineup at Rubin’s event, which also featured performances by Travis Scott and Quavo. The annual tradition leads up to Super Bowl LVIII, where the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are set to face off. Usher is slated to headline the Halftime Show, with the 49ers entering the game as slight favorites.

In a surprising turn, Ice Spice’s full Super Bowl ad for Starry’s has been unveiled. The ad features Spice getting cozy with the soda brand’s animated mascots until her “ex-boyfriend” tries to win her back. When rejected, the man’s head explosively transforms into a soda fountain. Titled “It’s Time To See Other Sodas,” the ad dropped on February 2 but held no clues about Spice’s real love life, contrary to some gossip sites’ beliefs.

This isn’t Spice’s first venture into food and drink advertising. Before her Super Bowl ad stint, she was seen in Dunkin commercials. Last year, Spice collaborated with Ben Affleck to promote her limited-time signature drink at the coffee chain. The Ice Spice Munchkins Drink’s first ad aired during the VMAs on September 12, featuring Affleck and Spice brainstorming names for the drink in a playful spot with Affleck embracing his Boston accent while Spice plays the straight woman.
