Audience members claim Drake deceived them regarding Nicki Minaj not appearing in the “For All The Dogs” collaboration
The hip-hop community was filled with excitement awaiting the launch of Drake‘s latest album, For All The Dogs. Fans were particularly thrilled about the thought of a collaborative track with fellow hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj. However, the eagerly-anticipated song was absent when the album was released, leaving fans feeling let down.
Both Drake and Minaj had previously confirmed that there was a collaboration on the album, leading to a wave of excitement among fans of both artists. The absence of the track has led to a backlash against Drake from both his fans and Minaj’s fanbase, known as the Barbz. One disgruntled fan took to social media to express their disappointment, accusing Drake of using the Barbz for promotional purposes.
Despite featuring 10 collaborations, Minaj’s track was considered one of the most anticipated highlights of the album. The reaction to the album has been mixed, with some fans hailing it as Drake’s best work in years, while others were less impressed with the 23-track release.
Although Minaj was not featured in For All The Dogs, there is still anticipation among fans for a possible reunion with Young Money. There is widespread conjecture that the song by Drake might be a part of Minaj’s forthcoming album, Pink Friday 2. Nonetheless, specifics about the album, such as its features and tracklist, are yet to be disclosed.
This theory, however, seems unlikely. It would be unusual for Drake to promote a collaboration ahead of his own album release without specifying that it wouldn’t appear on his album. Furthermore, Minaj herself appeared to confirm that the track had been recorded for For All The Dogs and not Pink Friday 2.
At best, this could be chalked up to poor promotion on Drake’s part. At worst, it could be seen as a deliberate attempt to mislead fans by claiming that Minaj would feature on the album. Regardless of the reason, the absence of the much-anticipated collaboration has certainly left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans.
As we await more information on Minaj’s Pink Friday 2, fans can only hope the promised collaboration will eventually see the light of day. Until then, the speculation and disappointment surrounding Drake’s latest release serve as a reminder of the high stakes and expectations in the world of hip-hop.
